Aufgaben:
Conduct state-of-the-art research into the molecular underpinnings of aggression in mental health conditions and work as part of the DFG-funded TRR 379 on Aggression in Mental Health Conditions (https://www.trr379.de) combining basic research with clinical applications. Develop novel analytical frameworks for integrating Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data with genetic and transcriptomic data to stratify mental health conditions. Disseminate resulting software for use within the wider scientific community. Apply these novel analytical techniques to existing large-scale imaging genetics cohorts (clinical and non-clinical). Teaching and supervision activities, knowledge dissemination, and publication of results in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Qualifikationen:
PhD in (Bio)informatics, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering Strong programming skills in R, C++, Python, and MATLAB. Interest in big data analytics Knowledge in computational neuroimaging techniques and analysis using software packages like FreeSurfer, or expertise in conducting genetic analyses; e.g. Genome-Wise Association Studies (GWAS) and computation of polygenic risk scores (PRS) is of advantage Experience in big data analysis and machine learning is desired, though not essential. Due to legal regulations, valid prood of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required
